So here I had been grinding to the cursed eye tails for my degree 40 charm pursuit and I got reminded of this Leafre portal site (does anyone even use this anymore?) At the exact same map and Maplestory Mesos made me reminisce about the sport and just how much of a pain the travelling was sometimes back then, but also the impact Maplestory Mesos had on the sport in terms of interacting with people.
Such trivial questions such as: do I really wish to utilize these 30k mesos I just saved up to get to Victoria island much quicker from Leafre or take the long route through Orbis*, had a match changing experience at least to me personally. I really don't know how many this was a magical encounter, but I always liked seeing everyone getting dropped from their boats and landing on Orbis and then soon to their own separate ways. I have had met lots of buddies from just standing there talking to individuals and also enjoying the songs while waiting for the ship to get there. Cursed be those crimson balrogs who always managed to catch me off guard on the Victoria island - Orbis route though.
I didn't really have any actual story to add to this since I figured my story of speaking to some stranger, getting friends, playing the game and just talking to each other to the day would have likely derailed the subject here by myself. Nonetheless, it is always so interesting for me to know what everybody else is thinking as well, so cheapest Maplestory 2 Mesos to finish this off blabbering: What was/is your opinion on how that you travel around in MapleStory? Do you believe a match with such travelling system may nevertheless be a selling point in today's market for MMO's? (This question just popped up in my head before I was about to post.
And to answer my own question: Despite me sounding like an old timey man on this post I am not demanding the older way to journey straight back or anything of the type. Although I didn't really see the significance of the older aspect of travelling until it became obsolete in the sport. However, I do still like the game as it is, not accidentally missing a boat program and having to wait for another one to come around helps.
To me teleporting into friendstory, alishan or where, then away to pantheon portal does seem a bit silly simply to get around, and rather would favor a mechanic such as auto-pilot (what's this thing actually? Does anybody even use it) But better executed. Say for instance, it works exactly like a taxi to every significant city / city just, but it could have a small cool down and/or meso cost.
I am assuming a little here with the issue stating that today's MMO's are a lot more focused on making the progress not feel sluggish by decreasing travel times, but that's how I feel and have undergone that many of the games are now. Correct me if I am totally wrong.
That's about all I wished to say, I have a tendency to sort out loudly so that I apologize if some parts are bit bit perplexing to read but that I just really wanted to make this discussion and to listen to what experiences/ideas you had. Wew, exactly what a block of dreadful text I've created.
But on a side note, how do you grammatically type a sentence in which you continue following a question? I wanted to add question mark at the end of the question at this spot but it just seemed so wrong in the time of this writing.
